RAY C MAHUTUTI KWA DAWA ZA KULEVYA KUPELEKWA REHAB KWA MATIBABU
According to The Kenyan Daily Post, controversial Tanzanian musician Ray C (full name Rehema Chalamila) has been admitted to rehab. She showed an interest in singing at an early age, she spent her childhood between Dar Es Salaam and Uganda. Ray C first came to public attention as a radio DJ on Dar Es Salaam radio station Clouds FM. She took vocal and belly-dancing lessons and released her first album 'Mapenzi Yangu' in 2003. The album was a success in her native Tanzania, but it was the release of her sophomore attempt 'Na Wewe Milele' the following year that shot her to fame across East Africa. On the back of the success of her second album, Ray C won Kilimanjaro and Kisima Music Awards as well as booking a raft of corporate performances. She released her third album, the self-titled Ray C in 2007. At the height of her success a sex tape featuring the Taarab and Bongo Flava star was released, but the singer and dancer took it in stride. Since the further nude images of Ray C have surfaced on the internet, but do not seem to have affected her popularity. Ray C has performed globally, with appearances in The UK, The US, Germany, Sweden, China, Uganda, Nigeria, India, South Africa and Kenya. The artist has recently returned a year spent in Kenya, where her music has been popular after she featured on a track called Moto Moto with Kenyan star French Boy. While in Kenya she continued to find herself mired in controversy, after making accusations against Kenyan promoter Sadat Muhindi and launching a tirade against Kenyan editor, Charles Otieno.
